Where did you grow up? I grew up in McKinney, TX, just outside Dallas. Why did you become a journalist? I’ve had a passion for video and current events since a young age. This career combined those things. I also love being able to see new things every day. What cities have you worked in during your journalism career? I held several behind-the-scenes roles in Fayetteville, Arkansas where I went to college. I then reported in Florence, South Carolina (near Myrtle Beach) and Memphis, Tennessee. What’s the most memorable story you’ve ever covered? I spent two weeks covering a murder trial in Oxford, Mississippi. An Ole Miss student was accused of killing his classmate. It was a case that rocked the community. It ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury. What are you most proud of in your career in news? I’m always thrilled when a story I’ve done makes a difference in the community or sheds light on an underrepresented topic. What’s something people don’t know about you? (For example, a hidden talent, interest, fun fact, or volunteer work that’s important to you) I was an exchange student in Germany and learned to speak fluent German. What do you like to do when you’re not working? I enjoy going to concerts with my fiancée and hanging out with my dog and cat. I’ve also enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest since moving here and would love any recommendations!
