Reporter

Elle Thomas anchors KIRO 7 Tonight weeknights at 11 p.m. and shares breaking news headlines for KIRO 7 Live at 4, KIRO 7 News at 5, and KIRO 7 News at 7. Elle joined the KIRO 7 news team as an anchor/reporter in June 2021 and anchored the weekend evening newscasts for more than a year before transitioning to her new weeknight role alongside Monique, Gary, and Aaron. Outside of her regular anchoring and reporting duties, Elle hosts KIRO 7’s docuseries, “Wildlife: A Look Inside Woodland Park Zoo.” Elle moved to the Emerald City from Salt Lake City, UT, where she spent three years anchoring, reporting, and hosting for the local FOX affiliate. More recently, Elle worked as a network correspondent for CNBC’s The News with Shepard Smith, fulfilling her lifelong career goal to report for a nationwide audience. Elle was born and raised in Colorado but followed her love of storytelling to Arizona State University, where she graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications with honors. Early on, Elle wrote for several print publications but ultimately got her start in TV news as a “one-man-band” reporter in Phoenix. Soon after, she traded Arizona’s desert for Colorado’s Western Slope, where she solo-anchored a two-hour morning show and 30-minute noon newscast (which she also produced). Elle is a self-proclaimed “news nerd” and has had the opportunity to fill more than a dozen newsroom roles, both on-air and behind the scenes, throughout her career. If she’s not on-air, she’s probably abroad. Elle has a passion for travel and recently got engaged while visiting the seventh (and final) New Wonder of the World with her long-time partner – wedding planning is already underway! Have a story idea or just want to say hi? Elle is active on social media and would love to hear from you!
