Elle Thomas joined the KIRO-7 news team in June 2021, as an anchor/reporter.
Elle comes to the Emerald City from Salt Lake City, UT, where she spent three years anchoring, reporting and hosting for the local FOX affiliate.
Most recently, Elle worked as a network correspondent for CNBC’s The News with Shepard Smith — fulfilling her lifelong career goal to report for a nationally syndicated newscast.
Elle was born and raised in Colorado, but followed her love of storytelling to Arizona State University, where she graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications with honors.
Elle got her start in TV news as a ‘one-man-band’ reporter while she was in Phoenix.
Soon after, she traded Arizona’s desert for Colorado’s Western Slope, where she solo-anchored a two-hour morning show, as well as a 30-minute noon newscast (which she also produced).
Elle is a self-proclaimed “news nerd” and has had the opportunity to fill more than a dozen newsroom roles, both on-air and behind the scenes, throughout her career.
If she’s not on-air, she’s probably abroad. Elle has a passion for travel and is currently trying to see the New Seven Wonders of the World — she only has two left!
