Man killed, teen hurt in hit-and-run crash in Green Lake neighborhood

SEATTLE — A man was killed and a teenager was hurt when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood Monday.

Just before 2 a.m., Seattle firefighters were called to a report of a car-pedestrian crash in the 8000 block of Corliss Avenue North. A witness said the driver of a white Ford F-150 pickup hit two people.

The witness said the driver fled eastbound on North 80th Street without stopping.

Seattle Fire Department spokesman David Cuerpo said crews arrived to find a 38-year-old man dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old boy had significant injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Police said they found a rideshare scooter near the scene, but have not yet determined if it was used by anyone involved in the crash.

SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigations Squad is handling the case.
