Seahawks offensive lineman Chad Wheeler is no longer with the team after being arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

He was booked into the jail early Saturday, and was released from jail Tuesday after posting $400,000 bond.

The Seahawks released a statement Wednesday saying Wheeler is now a free agent and no longer with the team.

The statement said the team strongly condemned this act of domestic violence and their thoughts and support are with the victim.

“We encourage Chad to get the help he needs,” it read.

The police report for the incident said that Wheeler had been on medication for bipolar disorder, but had not been taken his medication recently.

Wheeler was charged with first-degree domestic violence assault following his arrest last weekend.

Wheeler was additionally charged with domestic violence unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest by King County Prosecutors.

Wheeler is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 9.
