During the second presidential debate at Washington University, Trump was asked to speak about his remarks.
Moderator Anderson Cooper said Trump was talking about sexual assault, which Trump denied, then compared his comments to the dangers of ISIS.
Trump also said his tape was “just words” and “locker room talk.” He brought up former President Bill Clinton’s sexual history after having invited several of his accusers to the front row.
Another series of audio clips, focusing on various interviews between Trump and radio shock jock Howard Stern, have also been released. The candidate spoke vividly on his sexual activities, including infidelity, as well as his fascination with his daughter, Ivanka.
Several Republican politicians have retracted their endorsements, called for Trump to drop out, or have refused to defend his comments (including his own vice presidential pick, Mike Pence) after the comments resurfaced.
