Seahawks CB DeShawn Shead proposes to girlfriend after game

SEATTLE — After the victory, Shead met his girlfriend, Jessica Martinez, on the field.

When they were on the field, friends, family and players surrounded the couple as Shead asked Martinez if she would marry him.

After Martinez said “yes,” all those who surrounded them cheered.

KIRO 7 captured the moment during its Post Game Show.

During the proposal, the CenturyLink scoreboard above the Hawks Nest said “Will you marry me Jessica?” and Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” played in the background.

After the proposal KIRO 7 anchor and Voice of the Seahawks Steve Raible interviewed the couple.

“I was very shocked,” Martinez said.

“Football is what brought me to Washington, for me to meet her, so I think this is a big part of our relationship,” said Shead.

The couple then told Steve they plan to celebrate with family, friends and eat their favorite foods – chicken and waffles.
