PUYALLUP, Wash. — Puyallup police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train traveling southbound near the crossing at 5th Street NW and Stewart Ave.
At 10:27 a.m. Monday, police were notified of a person crossing train tracks north to south on the meridian. Pedestrian safety devices alerted the pedestrian, but he continued walking through the intersection and was struck.

Police have not confirmed an identity, age of the victim or signs of foul play.
The crossing at 5th Street NW and Stewart Ave is closed as officials continue their investigation. Police advise using alternate routes.
