Seattle Parks and Recreation will begin repaving sections of the Burke-Gilman Trail in northeast Seattle this summer, beginning in early June.
The 39 sections getting repaved are located between 30th Avenue Northeast and the King County/Seattle border near Northeast 145th Street.
Construction is expected to be completed by late summer 2019. The Seattle Park District provides $250,000 in funding for the project.
The work will repair sections of the trail, removes asphalt that is in disrepair, remove invasive roots and replace some sections of asphalt. Additional funding from SDOT will also replace 24 bollards, or short vertical posts, at 24 intersections along the trail.
Trail users will be detoured around the construction area on side streets. Visit this link for detour routes.
