RENTON, Wash. — The open portion of the Seahawks' 2018 training camp officially ended on Thursday, but not without tributes to the late Aretha Franklin.
The "Queen of Soul," passed away early Thursday in Detroit after a battle with pancreatic cancer, her publicist announced. Read more about her battle with pancreatic cancer here.
As fans took in the last public training camp of the summer at the VMAC in Renton, Franklin’s ‘R-E-S-P-E-C-T’ blared from speakers.

Quarterback Russell Wilson also took the time to honor the late singer. "I know she'll be up in heaven, looking down, signing her tail off," Wilson said.
Wilson: “I know Aretha Franklin meant a lot to Ciara. We were playing some Aretha in the locker room [before practice]. She lived a legacy of inspiring women and inspiring culture.” #RIPAretha #Seattle #Seahawks #NFLTrainingCamp pic.twitter.com/j9v3wkTKKq
