• Renton home burns after lightning strike

RENTON, Wash. - A house burned as a thunderstorm passed over the Puget Sound region Friday morning.

Flames tore through the roof of the Renton home in the 12600 block of Southeast 104th Southeast after it was directly hit by lightning.

Chopper 7 pilot Clark Stahl said he could see the smoke from the Renton Airport.

The 57-year-old owner told KIRO 7 reporter Chris Legeros that he was sitting in the living room when the lightning hit and was thrown across the room.  He was taken to Valley Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
