Pride events held in person for the first time since 2019

For the first time in three years, in-person Pride festivals are back in a big way.

Pride in the Park was held Saturday at Capitol Hill’s Volunteer Park, and those attending told us they were thrilled to be there.

“Virtual Pride was wonderful, but our community is used to seeing each other, supporting each other,” said Krystal Marx, executive director of Seattle Pride. “So being able to be together means being able to fight for our rights together, to celebrate together, to mourn together, and we’re all just really excited that we’re all coming through the pandemic safely.”

The Seattle Pride Parade is also being held in person for the first time since 2019.

The theme this year is “family reunion,” and it’s sure to be one to remember.

The parade is free to attend and starts Sunday, June 26, at 11 a.m. along Fourth Avenue in Seattle.

You can also stream the parade live on KIRO7.com or the KIRO 7 News apps on your phone or TV.
