Police open homicide investigation after man found dead in Shelton

SHELTON, Wash. — Police have opened a homicide investigation after a man was found dead Thursday morning in Shelton.

Officers were called at 11:46 a.m. to the 200 block of Turner Avenue after receiving a call about an injured man.

When law enforcement arrived, officials said they found a man who had apparent trauma to his body and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators with the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab, were called to the scene to assist Shelton police in the investigation.

Officials with the city of Shelton said, “We have no reason to believe that anyone in the community is at risk at this time.”
