A man suspected of breaking into bedrooms and touching women’s feet was arrested Thursday, April 27, and booked into the Mason County Jail for investigation of burglary.
Chase Garner, 22, “has provided statements to the detectives regarding his actions and involvement in our cases,” Shelton police said in a statement. “Detectives are continuing the investigation, including contacting other possible victims.”
He was arrested after a Shelton resident woke to an unknown man in her bedroom.
“When she alerted her boyfriend, who was sleeping next to her, the suspect fled,” the police statement said. “The victim immediately called 911 to report the incident.”
Police believe there may be other victims.
Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant on Garner’s home in the Phillip's Lake area of Mason County.
“Numerous items were discovered in the suspect's home that linked the suspect to our victims,” the police statement said. “Property was recovered that was stolen from some of the victim's homes; this included numerous firearms and undergarments. It is believed that the suspect took the items from the victim's homes while they were sleeping. The firearms recovered were from numerous burglaries throughout Mason County. In almost all of the cases the suspect knew the victims through work or social media, and in fact admitted he entered at least one home after reading information the victim posted on social media.”
