Light snow reported in Western Washington early Sunday

SEATTLE — The National Weather Service reported light snow in Western Washington on Sunday morning.

Light snow was reported as far north as Shelton and West Seattle early in the morning, but temperatures had warmed into the 40s by the afternoon. Lowland areas should expect rain showers more than snow.

A few inches of snow is expected in Cascades passes Sunday, but with only minor travel impacts.

Overnight, temperatures could drop to around freezing and any wet roads could develop ice, the NWS said. Temperatures will be milder during the week.
