Some white supremacists across the country have coined February 25 as ‘National Day of Hate’, said the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.

The Federation said they don’t anticipate any major activity in the greater Seattle area but would like people to be aware of potential social media postings, graffiti, bannnering, or other antisemitic activity.

The Federation’s law enforcement partners have been contacted and are standing by if needed.

The Federation has also been in touch with local Jewish institutions about the potential for heightened antisemitic activity through SAFE Washington.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has also condemned the ‘Day of Hate’, CARE announced Friday.

CARE released a statement:

“We strongly condemn the so-called ‘Day of Hate’ reportedly organized by neo-Nazis and white supremacists, and express solidarity with our Jewish neighbors across the country.

“American Muslims know how it feels to be targeted in this way, having dealt with ‘Punish a Muslim Day’ and the ‘March Against Sharia’ in recent years. We know that solidarity is the best way to confront these dangerous and bigoted campaigns.

“We encourage mosques to contact neighborhood synagogues to offer support, solidarity and advice. We also encourage law enforcement to take steps to protect synagogues in their local jurisdictions.

People should report incidents to local law enforcement, dial 911, and to both SAFE Washington at alert@safewashington.com and to the ADL at www.adl.org/incident.

“Wishing you a safe and peaceful weekend. Shabbat Shalom,” said the Federation.
