SEATTLE — A combination of high winds, low humidity and high temperatures in the PNW earlier this week led to some of the worst wildfires Washington state has seen in years.
Hundreds of thousands of acres have burned, evacuations have been put in place on both sides of the state and 80% of the homes and buildings in Malden were ravaged.
With so many families impacted, many people and agencies are stepping up to help.
Gov. Jay Inslee has issued a proclamation to help provide cash assistance from the Family Emergency Assistance Program. The city of Malden, Massachusetts, is helping to provide support to its namesake town in Washington.
