EVERETT, Wash. — An Everett marijuana shop robbed at gunpoint was caught on camera. KIRO 7 spoke to the shop’s owner who shared even more surveillance video and his story in the hopes that it will help catch the crooks.

The owner of the THC Connection says he was hit three times this year with break-ins.

It was Sept. 18 when the gunmen walked through the front door of the shop after 11 p.m. and held the employee at gunpoint. It was caught on cameras mounted all around the shop. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office released some of the video Thursday and the shop owners shared more with KIRO 7.

The owner said he was most concerned about the safety of his employee and that the employee did everything correct in the situation. “He felt very rattled by it, we all did, and then after we knew that he was safe there was anger,” the owner said.

The surveillance video shows the men walking in and immediately demanding money. The store had just changed its hours on that date, and to the owner, it appeared the robbers took advantage of that and seemed to know where the money was. “It really bothers us that someone was willing to come in here armed and rob us,” he said.

THC Connection also recorded the voices of the two robbers who scream instructions at the clerk, and then shove him in a bathroom at gunpoint.

The owner says there was a break-in in February, and earlier this month someone took a golf club to his window in an attempt at a break-in. He shared the video of that incident, and even though the suspect breaks the glass, he realizes the windows are barred and that they will not be able to get into the shop. The three suspects flee the scene shortly after that.

The owner admits that pot shops are a target. “We’re a cash heavy business and that’s true across all stores... unfortunately that’s known.”

On Sept. 13 – five days before THC Connection was robbed -- KIRO 7 covered another incident. In that case an employee of a pot shop was shot in a robbery attempt in White Center.

In the Everett robbery, the two suspects are masked but wore distinctive clothes, had a large gun and spoke. All of that could help authorities track them down says THC Connection’s owner.

“If there’s something familiar about what they looked like someone you’ve seen or known that’s why we’d like the public to come forward,” the owner said.

He said the suspects may have been in the store before. He also said the road is busy even at 11 p.m., so someone could have easily seen something that night. He’s hoping they will call authorities.
