TACOMA, Wash. — A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Tacoma early Saturday.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the 5000 block of S. Puget Sound Avenue.

Tacoma police said two vehicles were crashing each other when the second car, a white Ford Explorer, hit a bicyclist. The bicyclist was thrown into a parked car.

The car continued driving, and eventually crashed into a building after failing to turn, officials said. Police said the driver fled on foot and was not found.

The 34-year-old male bicyclist was taken to a hospital for surgery on non-life-threatening injuries, according to Tacoma police.
