Worker electrocuted

SEATTLE — One man is dead, and another was injured when their aluminum ladder fell on a power line, electrocuting them both, Seattle police said.

Medics were called about 3:20 p.m. to the 800 block of 32nd Avenue, where crews performed lifesaving measures on a 55-year-old man, but he was declared dead at the scene, police said.

A 27-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The men were working on the outside of a building and attempted to move their aluminum ladder when a strong gust of wind blew the top of it into a nearby power line, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
