SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks have released middle linebacker and eight-time Pro Bowler Bobby Wagner, according to ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The move comes just hours after fans learned that quarterback Russell Wilson is reportedly headed to Denver in a blockbuster trade considered one of the biggest ever in the NFL.

Wagner was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft and played ten seasons with the team.

He will be allowed to sign with another team before free agency begins next week, Schefter says.
