SEATTLE — As you plan your Black Friday shopping and driving strategy, KIRO 7 looked into the worst times expected for traffic around Western Washington’s busiest shopping centers.
Kirkland-based traffic company Inrix made these projections for KIRO 7.
Near Westfield Southcenter Mall traffic will be slow between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. You can expect the heaviest traffic on I-405 at 2:05 p.m.
If you're heading to Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulalip traffic on I-5 will be slow between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The slowest-moving traffic will be at 2:10 pm.
Near Alderwood Mall, I-5 will be backed up between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The most congestion is expected at 1:35 p.m.
Around Bellevue Square traffic will be slow between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. The worst traffic will be at 12:55 p.m. And this year Inrix predicts Bellevue Square will be one of the 11 busiest malls in the country.
If you're going to head into Downtown Seattle to shop on Black Friday Inrix looked at the best places to park. They found that Pacific Place Garage at 6th Avenue and Olive Way is going to be your best bet, and you'll pay on average $8.43 an hour.
