Woman suspected of ripping off grieving families

Yolanda Williams

A former employee of a law firm in Federal Way is being investigated for stealing thousands of dollars from a grieving family.

KIRO 7's Amy Clancy found that Yolanda Williams has been sentenced twice to 30-days for stealing from an employer – once in Thurston County and once in Pierce County.

Williams is also convicted of forgery and malicious mischief.
She worked at a Federal Way firm that specializes in helping the elderly.

A woman, who asked to not be identified, wrote more than $20,000 worth of checks to Williams' personal account because Williams was so convincing.

The King County Prosecutors Office now has the case and is deciding on possible charges.

The victim told KIRO 7 if Williams is convicted, she hope she gets longer than just 30 days behind bars.
