Q: Why is winter weather so much cooler in Eastern Washington?
A: It almost always has to do with the moisture.
The air across on the eastside of the Cascade crest is generally much, much dryer. Dry air cools off very efficiently at night – that’s why those temperatures can really plummet. It does effectively warm up during the daytime.
