Washington's Healthplanfinder shuts down during first day of online enrollment

SEATTLE — During the first day of open online enrollment, the Washington Health Benefit Exchange had to shut down their website.

The Exchange said they shut down the Washington Healthplanfinder website after determining that 2015 tax credit amounts were being incorrectly calculated.

They shut the website down on Saturday in order to resolve the issue.

Quality control review was in place for the website to catch any discrepancies or irregularities during the first hours of enrollment.

On Saturday evening, the website was still down.

Richard Onizuka, CEO for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, said they continue ‘to be unavailable today to provide a resolution for incorrect eligibility results for 2015 health insurance premium tax credit amounts that appeared in the first few hours of open enrollment.’

Onizuka said Washington Healthplanfinder expects to be back online on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 8:00 a.m.
