NEW YORK — A New York man is facing charges after his father found a bag filled with human remains in the basement of their Queens home.
According to WABC-TV, the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday at a home on 138th Avenue in Laurelton. New York police said the father, who owns the home where his son also lives, was cleaning the basement when he made the discovery, the news outlet reported. The medical examiner later confirmed that the bag contained human remains, WCBS-TV reported.
Authorities arrested the man’s son, 38-year-old Josh Legendre, on charges of concealing a corpse and evidence tampering, according to WABC. Police told WNBC-TV that they are investigating whether the deceased is Legendre’s girlfriend.
Authorities are working to determine what caused the death, WABC reported. No further information was immediately available.
