CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — A mother, father, sister and 5-year-old niece were allegedly killed at a house in Arizona on Sunday and a family member was arrested.
According to a statement from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, at around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, four people were found dead in a house in Casa Grande, Arizona.
KTVK identified the suspect as Richard Wilson Jr., 21.
PCSO identified the victims as Richard Wilson, 47, Ellen Otterman, 50, Rudy Wilson, 16, and Renaya Wilson, 5. Richard and Ellen were identified as the suspect’s parents. Rudy was identified as his sister and Renaya was identified as his niece.
PCSO Chief Deputy Matthew Thomas told KTVK that Rudy was the one who called 911, but the call dropped and deputies could not reach out in time.
According to KSAZ, Chief Deputy Thomas said this crime scene was one of the worst scenes deputies in Pinal County have seen.
“This act of depraved violence will have long-lasting effects on all those who knew this family,” said PCSO Sheriff Mark Lamb in a statement. “While nothing will bring their loved ones back, I send my prayers and support to everyone affected.”
PCSO said that Richard Wilson Jr. was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
PCSO told KTVK that deputies have been called to the house 10 times over the past three years. Two of the calls involved mental health pickup orders and two other calls were welfare checks, but no further details were provided.
The Casa Grande Elementary School District released a statement over the weekend on Facebook, according to KTVK.
“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you a student and staff member were tragically killed over the weekend. We are not releasing the names of those who passed out of respect for the family. Counselors will be on site this week to support our students and staff who may need someone with whom to talk. We send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of these individuals and mourn the loss of two of our CGESD family,” said CGESD Superintendent Dr. Adam Leckie in the statement.
No further information has been released, including what may have led up to this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
