Actors Keshia Knight Pulliam and Brad James are expecting their first baby together.
“The Cosby Show” actor announced the news ahead of an appearance on the “Tamron Hall Show” on Thursday, writing in an Instagram post, “Oh Baby Baby!! Baby James coming 2023!!”
Pulliam previously spoke about her struggle to grow her family in the documentary “Eggs Over Easy: Black Women & Fertility.” She talked about how she was getting ready to start the process of freezing her eggs when the coronavirus pandemic caused doctors to halt all elective medical procedures, People reported.
“I never thought I would be one of the stories shared within the documentary,” she told People earlier this year. “I was 41 at the time and knew that I wanted another kid, but I knew that it wasn’t right now.”
In an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Pulliam said she hadn’t been hiding the news of her pregnancy, “but you know, when you’ve had a miscarriage, when you’ve gone through this journey, you’re just very — you want to just enjoy this moment and want to make sure that everything’s OK.”
Pulliam is mother to a 5-year-old girl, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Edgerton Hartwell, according to Essence.
“She’s so excited to be a big sister, and she talks to the baby regularly and rubs on my belly,” Pulliam told Tamron Hall. “She’s gone on this journey too, so you know, was like ‘mommy, is the baby going to stay with us this time? Is it going to stay?’ She’s so happy that it is. … She’s going to be the most amazing big sister ever.”
Pulliam, 43, and James, 41, began dating in 2019 after meeting on the set of the TV movie “Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta,” according to CNN. The couple exchanged vows in September 2021.
