Florida homeowner finds naked man in kitchen

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Florida homeowner made a startling discovery Friday morning. Hearing his dogs barking, the Clearwater resident investigated and found a naked man in his kitchen, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

The naked intruder left after grabbing a pair of knives, police said.

Moments later, police, with the assistance of a K-9, found the man in a nearby screened-in porch, hiding under a swing, the Times reported.

Jesse Ramon Conover, 32, of Clearwater, was arrested and charged with two counts of armed burglary, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. According to an arrest report, Conover appeared to be under the influence of drugs when he was taken into custody.

Bail was set at $100,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Conover, who has an arrest history that includes strong-arm robbery, aggravated battery, domestic battery, drug possession and drunken driving, the Times reported. Conover, who was released from prison May 8, was sentenced to 20 months on drug charges in January 2019, according to Pinellas County court records. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in September 2010 on strong-arm robbery charges.

An assistant public defender was appointed to represent Conover, who entered a not guilty plea, according to court records.
