It’s called an “airburst” and was only the seventh time that an asteroid impact had been predicted before it happens, The Telegraph reported.

The European Space Agency had predicted that the asteroid was going to “safely strike” the Earth’s atmosphere near the French city of Rouen.

The small asteroid — named Sar2667 —was about 3 feet big and was seen just before 3:00 GMT Monday morning and was shared across social media.

While may have only been about 3 feet big, it left a huge burst of light in the sky that was visible across most of southern England and Wales, Wales Online reported.

It also was seen in France, the Independent reported.
