CHICAGO — Five people were injured when a vehicle jumped a curb and crashed into the patio area of a Chicago restaurant Friday night, authorities said.
According to Chicago fire officials, the diners were eating at the Uproar restaurant in the northern section of the city at around 10:30 p.m. CDT when the crash occurred, WGN-TV reported.
Chicago police officials said a person driving southbound in a silver Lexus sedan was trying to pass a Toyota Prius, WLS-TV reported.

The Lexus clipped the Toyota and the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to the television station. The Lexus jumped the curb onto the sidewalk before crashing onto the patio of the restaurant.
The people who were struck by the vehicle were eating at an outside table, WLS reported.
The driver of the Lexus fled the scene, WGN reported. The person driving the Prius was not injured and refused medical attention.
Five of the people -- two men and three women -- were taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to the television station. Two of the women suffered broken legs and the others sustained minor bruising and lacerations, WGN reported.
No arrests have been made, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
