2 stabbed on New Jersey beach; 2 suspects in custody, police say

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. — Two people were stabbed Monday in an attack near Jenkinson’s Aquarium at Point Pleasant Beach in New Jersey, and two suspects are in custody, police confirmed.

“It is completely under control,” Mayor Paul Kanitra told NJ Advance Media just before 5 p.m. EDT, noting there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The victims were taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment, and authorities referred to the altercation as an “isolated” incident, News 12 New Jersey reported.

“It’s scary. I have children, so it’s scary for them to see that,” witness Kitxia Morales told the TV station. “We came to have fun, and something happens like that. I’s scary. It’s traumatizing for us. They shouldn’t have to see something like this.”

The extent of the victims’ injuries was not immediately clear, but both are expected to recover, News 12 New Jersey reported.
