CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — An 18-year-old Amish man has been charged with recklessly operating a buggy while drunk.
Police said Adam Byler ran a stop sign then tipped over the buggy Sunday morning in Chautauqua County, New York, WKBW reported.
The crash happened when Byler tried to turn onto another road, Western New York News Now reported.
Byler was not alone in the crash. Police said a 17-year-old was also in the buggy.
They were thrown from the vehicle and injured the horse, police said.
Byler, in addition to recklessly operating the buggy while drunk, was also charged with driving/torturing an animal and endangering the welfare of a child, WKBW reported.
