SEATTLE — Among the memorabilia stolen were jerseys worn by team members, baseball bats, gloves, and baseballs, according to police.
Police say the man climbed a fence at around 4:00 in the morning on Thursday -- then smashed open glass display cases to get to the items.
Fingerprints left at the scene of the crime and surveillance cameras helped police identify the thief.
Once police identified the man, tracked him to his home, and arrived, the suspect asked an officer to retrieve his coat. When the officer went to retrieve it -- the stolen items were spotted in a closet.
After getting a warrant, police found almost all of the other stolen items in the home.
Two items are still missing: a 1908 Vancouver/Spokane NWL championship-inscribed baseball, and a 1947 Vancouver Capilanos championship silver cigarette case.
If you have any information that could lead to the location of these items, police ask you to call detectives directly at (206) 684-5730.
