Troopers seek witnesses in Tacoma hit-and-run

The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses after a hit-and-run in Tacoma that left a man with serious injuries.

Around noon on Friday, Nov. 11, a 63-year-old Tacoma man was driving a Dodge Caravan on southbound Interstate 5 and was nearing the exit for Interstate 705.

An unknown vehicle that was also traveling southbound swerved into a lane occupied by a Subaru Outback, which swerved to avoid a collision and struck the rear of the Caravan.

The collision pushed the Caravan into the rear of an Acura MDX SUV, which hit the rear of a Ford F150 pickup truck.

The driver of the unknown vehicle continued and exited to northbound I-705.

Witnesses have been unable to provide the unknown vehicle’s style, color, make, model or any other identifying characteristics.

Anyone with information is asked to call Washington State Patrol Detective Tessa Schahfer at 253-538-3172.
