A two-alarm fire burned through the roof of a Milton senior apartment community Tuesday evening, but no injuries were reported.
The first started about 6:30 p.m. in the Alder Ridge Senior Apartments at 2800 Alder St. The cause was not immediately known.
All of the residents of the 116-unit building were evacuated safely and were being relocated to a neighboring senior housing apartment community, Mill Ridge Village, spokeswoman Tracy Willis said in a statement.
Milton is a city in King and Pierce counties about 28 miles south of Seattle and about 8 miles east of Tacoma.
