The King County Housing Authority will be reopening its waiting list for Section 8 vouchers for only the second time since 2011.
Starting Wednesday, households in need of rental assistance can apply for KCHA's Housing Choice Voucher program wait list.
The need for this program has far exceeded available resources.
In 2015, KCHA received 22,000 applications -- for 2,500 vouchers.
When Seattle opened its wait list earlier this year, a case manager told us many families try multiple wait lists.
Applications will be accepted through April 18.
Registration for the lottery is free and available only on KCHA's website, KCHA.org.
