SEATTLE — Starting on Monday, June 15th – six new speed zone safety cameras will be installed at Seattle-area schools.
The cameras will be installed at the following locations:
- 15th Avenue S and S Columbian Way for Mercer Middle School
- Delridge Way SW for K-5 STEM at Boren
- 24th Avenue E for Montlake Elementary School
- Beacon Avenue S for Rainier View Elementary School
- Boren Avenue for Bailey Gatzert Elementary School
- 1st Avenue NE for Northgate Elementary School
Installation of the cameras will occur from June through August.
Warnings will be issued for 30 days beginning on September 9. Citations will be issued beginning on October 9.
Anyone in excess of the school zone speed limit will receive a ticket by mail.
School zone speed limits are effective for around one hour in the morning as students arrive and one hour in the afternoon -- when students are dismissed.
