'Roscoe Bandit' strikes Olympia bank

The Roscoe Bandit has allegedly robbed again, this time at a bank in Olympia.  There are now three robberies attributed to this bandit.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — A bank robber who is wanted in connection with robberies at two Seattle banks is now suspected of robbing a bank in Olympia.

The most recent robbery occurred  Oct. 30 at the Timberland Bank on Washington Street Southeast.

The robber is described as black, 6 feet tall, in his 30s with a medium build and a medium complexion. The FBI said that during the robberies the man has worn a baseball cap and sunglasses.

Authorities said the man has carried a long-barreled revolver, which has led investigators to give the robber the "Roscoe Bandit" moniker, based on an early 19th century nickname for a handgun.

The other two robberies occurred Tuesday, July 29 at the Wells Fargo Bank on Third Avenue in Seattle and Monday, July 28 at the HomeStreet Bank on East Broadway in Seattle.

The FBI said the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact a local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. Tips may also be submitted at tips.fbi.gov.
