A 22-year-old woman in Snohomish was assaulted on her way to work Wednesday morning, and police are looking for the attacker who pulled down the woman’s pants and underwear.
The victim “flagged down a passing vehicle to use the driver’s cell phone around 3:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of Bickford Ave to call 911,” Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sheri Ireton said in a statement. “She reported that, as she was walking to work, a male unknown to her pulled her down to the ground, pulled off her pants and underwear, and started to assault her.
“The victim fought back, kicking the man in the face. The victim was able to break free and run away and the suspect attempted to follow her until she lost him. The victim suffered minor injuries.”
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5-foot-7 with short hair and stubble. He wore a gray or tan plaid jacket, brown pants or jeans and was last seen going southbound on Bickford Ave.
“Police are conducting an extensive search of the area by foot patrol and K9 units,” Ireton said. “Anyone who may know the identity of the suspect or has information about this incident should call 911.”
