Pacific Science Center evacuated after chlorine leak

SEATTLE — The Pacific Science Center in Seattle Center was evacuated Friday evening after a fountain chlorine pump broke, said officials with the Seattle Fire Department.

A hazardous materials team responded at about 7 p.m. to Denny Way and Broad Street.

When crews arrived, they isolated the leaking fountain chlorine tank and turned off the chlorine pumps.

There were no injuries during the incident.

An 8 p.m. laser show was canceled due to the incident.
