New ORCA regional day passes now available

SEATTLE — The new ORCA regional day pass is now available and should be an attractive option for Seattle-area visitors.

The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/1ggMDId ) that an $8 day pass allows unlimited trips where full fare is $3.50 or less.

That includes Link light rail, the South Lake Union streetcar, and most bus services, but not Washington State Ferries or the Seattle Center Monorail.

Passes are $4 for seniors and riders with disabilities.

People needing costlier rides on the Vashon or West Seattle water taxis, some Transit buses, and longer Sounder commuter-rail trips will need to make up the difference using cash, or a standard ORCA card.

Buy passes at ticket vending machines, or from retailers who sell ORCA cards.
