NASA is using Microsoft HoloLens to coach astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
Until now, crews have relied on written and voice instructions when performing complex repairs.
With the HoloLens and Skype, a ground operator is able to see what a crew member sees and provide real time guidance.
The can also use animated holographic illustrations to guide the crew.
NASA hopes the new technology reduces crew training requirements.
