Man suspected of Elma hotel rape located by police

A man suspected of raping a hotel employee in Elma was located on Saturday.
A rape suspect in Elma, Washington who allegedly tied up and sexually assaulted a female employee of the Guest House Inns and Suites was located on Saturday.

ELMA, Wash. — The suspect entered the Elma hotel, went to the front desk to inquire about a room, and then subdued the female employee when she showed him one that was vacant, prior to rental.

The man is accused of tying up the employee and then sexually assaulting her.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Nov. 27 at around 12:30 a.m. Police put out a description of the suspect and requested any information that could help them locate the man.

Video surveillance footage also helped police locate the suspect.

Police were able to locate him at a residence in the 600 block of West Waldrip Street on Saturday.

The 33-year-old man surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

He was booked at the Grays Harbor County Jail and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
