BELLEVUE, Wash. — A valet mishap led to a police investigation in Bellevue.
According to police, a valet worker gave a man keys to a Bentley by mistake and he drove it away.
Investigators say it happened at the Bellevue Hyatt last Saturday night.
A man and woman left their rental car, a Mitsubishi Outlander, with valet workers. When they came out they were given keys to a 2005 Bentley by mistake.
Police say the couple is caught on camera looking at the car, looking at each other and then driving away.
The owner of the Bentley called police to report it stolen. Police found he had not properly registered the car when he bought it a couple of years ago, so he was unable to officially report it stolen.
Investigators say the man who took the Bentley called the valet more than 24 hours later and agreed to return the car.
The owner of the Bentley did not want to file charges; he just wanted his car back.
The couple says it was a mistake.
