SEATTLE — The University of Washington has announced that most classes will be held online for the first week of the winter quarter due to the spread of the omicron variant of COVID-19.
A limited number of classes will still meet in person the week of Jan. 3, including clinical instruction and practicums, as well as some lab courses. Research activities can also continue in person.
UW says the week of primarily online classes will help minimize disruptions caused by the omicron variant and provide additional time for students and faculty to look out for symptoms and get tested for COVID-19 following holiday travel.
