PUYALLUP, Wash. — A 3-year-old boy was killed in a Monday afternoon shooting in Puyallup, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said.
Central Pierce Fire and Rescue along with Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputies responded around 4 p.m. to a shooting in the 10800 block of 58th Avenue Court East.
Medics arrived and found a family taking a 3-year-old boy the hospital with a gunshot wound.

The boy was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital with life-threatening critical injuries, where he later died.
Deputies are investigating what happened and are unsure if it was an accident or negligent discharge of the gun.
The sheriff’s department said this is an active investigation and is waiting for a warrant to search the home.
