Uber will no longer operate in the city of Bremerton.
Two years ago, the city overhauled its taxi regulations, making them tougher, but just recently eliminated ridesharing services from the rules.
Instead, drivers are required to get a $75 a year business license to operate in the city.
Fees like that aren't uncommon, so city officials in Bremerton are perplexed by Uber's decision. The city says it’s more expensive to buy a business license in Tacoma, and Uber operates there.
But the company has pulled out of other cities before for what it has called burdensome regulations.
Uber competitor Lyft is still operating in the city.
