GOLD BAR, Wash. — Two people were rushed to the hospital after a large firework went off inside a car in Gold Bar on New Year’s Eve.
Sky Valley Fire told KIRO 7 that a man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious hand injuries and a woman was taken to Providence Medical Center in Everett with serious injuries to her face.
The fire department believes the firework may have been a mortar shell.
It’s unclear how it went off.
The incident is under investigation.
