TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma Rainiers baseball team kick off their season Thursday, and fans will notice something new.
There will be a “vaccinated only” section when the Rainiers host their first home game of the minor league season.
The Rainiers are the first professional team in Washington to offer the section.
With the new section available, spectators can enjoy more of the fan experience they’re used to, with other people sitting close by.
Fans in the vaccinated section will not be required to socially distance, but they will still have to wear a mask and provide proof of vaccination.
It will also allow the team to have 50% capacity at Cheney Stadium.
The Rainiers first pitch against the El Paso Chihuahuas is at 7:05 p.m.
