Washington State troopers are conducting DUI emphasis patrols.
It's part of a nationwide effort to curb drunken driving.
Extra troopers will be on duty to strictly enforce road rules through Labor Day.
They will be looking for dangerous speeding, distracted driving, seat belt usage and impaired driving.
They remind people who are drinking while out to designate a sober driver, take public transportation or call a cab or ride share.
